STEPHANIE ALBERTS – Physiotherapist – B.Hlth.Sc, M.Phty, APAM
Steph is our resident titled sports physiotherapist and Grade physiotherapist for Warringah Rugby Club. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2014 and has since completed a Masters in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy through La Trobe University.
Through her sports masters Steph had the opportunity to complete placements with several professional sports teams including Geelong Cats (AFL) and Australian Rugby 7s (Men’s Program). She has also previously completed internships in the US with professional track and field team ALTIS in Phoenix, Arizona and worked with Brooks Beast in Seattle, Washington.
Coming from a sporting and performance background, Steph understands the importance of looking after the athlete holistically, not just a specific body part or injury. She believes that physio should not only treat injuries but act as a preventative management and performance enhancement. Steph has a special interest in running biomechanics and rehabilitation and dance related injuries.
“I became a physiotherapist to help people reach their performance or life goals. I love the ability to help people every day and make a positive impact on people’s lives.”
Fun fact: Outside of work Steph enjoys training and competing for triathlons; something she started after retiring from athletics. She has also trained in circus performance (aerial silks/lyra) and worked up to Advanced 1 RAD Classical Ballet. When not training or working you can find Steph at the beach with a coffee in hand!!
